The inspiration for this idea came from an interview with Dave Monk of BBC Essex Radio. He was interviewing Kyle MacDonald of
www.oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com fame.
Karl explained that by making a series of up-trades from his "one red paperclip" he was hoping to get a house.
What a great ideaI thought and decided that I would try the same thing for charitable causes, but I decided to start with nothing.
So where do I start - Karl site uses Blogger- whats that ? How do you do it? Oh well I'll get round to it later- lets find my first trade. Hmmmmmmmm
A moment of inspiration and I wondered "didn't the joke shops used to sell "round toits" lets search the internet. Low and behold there they were "Round tuits " everywhere.
All I have to do is get one for free. So I pick up the phone and start dialling not knowing how I am going to convince somebody to give me something for nothing.
The first couple of dials produced nothing, I had to leave messages or the shop was closed. On my third call I spoke to Yvonne who must have thought I was crazy, however, she suggested I speak to Allyson, her business Partner, in South Wales.
After a very pleasent 15 min call- I think I have got my "Round Toit" This must have been the strangest cold call Allyson has ever had.
Okay now I got to get the blog sorted out. That was relatively easy but it doesn't look anything like
www.myredpaperclip.blogspot.com.
My Blogger is
www.round-toit.blogspot.comSo, I've think I've got my "round toit" and I'm ready to trade. Now I need to get somebody to help me set up the blog site. Thats todays job.
